New Stationmaster for Stogumber

We are pleased to announce the appointment of a new stationmaster at Stogumber Station.

Bob Preston, a Stogumber resident and long standing volunteer at the station, is now assuming responsibility for the running of the station, with Alan Bines as his assistant.

“Bob is a great asset to Stogumber Station and will oversee the running of the day to day operations and ensuring we continue to preserve this historic building for visitors and railway travellers”, said Colin White, Treasurer of Friends of Stogumber Station, the organisation which runs the station.

Stogumber Station…whatever the weather!

A dull, rainy June day at Stogumber Station…but the British spirit of making the most of the great outdoors didn’t get in the way of a delicious pasty and a cream tea!

The photo was taken during truly miserable wet weather on 28 June, when Pam Richards, a Stogumber resident and her family who were visiting from Canada insisted on eating outside in the rain!
